Terms of Service
Versatile Electrical Services LLC
Effective Date: 4/3/2026
By accepting any estimate, proposal, invoice, or by allowing work to begin, the Customer agrees to the following Terms of Service:
1.) Scope of Work
Versatile Electrical Services LLC (“Company”) agrees to perform electrical services as outlined in the approved estimate or work order. Any additional work requested by the Customer that is not included in the original scope will require a change order and may result in additional charges.
2.) Estimates & Pricing
- All estimates are valid for 30 days from the date issued.
- Prices are subject to change after this period or if material/labor costs increase.
- Hidden conditions, code violations, or unforeseen issues discovered during the project may require additional work and cost.
- Verbal estimates are non-binding unless confirmed in writing.
3.) Payment Terms
- Payment is due as stated on the invoice or estimate.
- Deposits may be required before work begins.
- For larger projects, progress payments may be required.
- Final payment is due immediately upon completion unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- The Company may require payment in certified funds for certain projects.
4.) Late Payments
- Any unpaid balance after the due date will incur a late fee of 2% per month (or the maximum allowed under Virginia law).
- Customer agrees to pay all costs associated with collection, including attorney fees, court costs, and collection agency fees if applicable.
5.) Permits & Inspections
- Permits will be obtained if required unless otherwise specified.
- Inspection scheduling is dependent on local authorities and not controlled by the Company.
- Customer is responsible for providing access for inspections.
- Additional trips due to failed inspections or denied access may result in additional charges.
6.) Customer Responsibilities
The Customer agrees to:
- Provide clear and safe access to the work area
- Ensure pets and hazards are secured
- Disclose any known issues that may affect the work
- Be responsible for damages caused by undisclosed conditions or unsafe environments
7.) Warranty & Limitations
- Labor warranty (if offered) will be stated on the invoice or estimate.
- Manufacturer warranties apply only to materials supplied by the Company.
- The Company is not responsible for pre-existing conditions, improper prior installations, or failures caused by conditions beyond its control.
- Warranty claims are void if work is altered or tampered with by others after completion.
8.) No Warranty on Customer-Supplied Materials
- The Company provides no warranty, guarantee, or liability for any materials, fixtures, or equipment supplied by the Customer.
- The Company is not responsible for defects, failures, compatibility issues, or performance of customer-provided items.
- Any labor performed to install customer-supplied materials is not warrantied, and any future service calls related to such materials will be billable.
9.) Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
- Deposits may be non-refundable depending on materials purchased or labor scheduled.
- The Company reserves the right to charge a cancellation or trip fee for late cancellations or missed appointments.
10.) Liability
- The Company is licensed and insured in the Commonwealth of Virginia and will take reasonable precautions while performing work.
- The Company is not liable for incidental, indirect, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of use, loss of property, or delays beyond its control.
- Customer agrees to hold the Company harmless for conditions outside the Company’s control.
11.) Right to Stop Work
The Company reserves the right to stop work immediately if:
- Payment terms are not met
- Unsafe or hazardous conditions are present
- The Customer breaches this agreement
- Work conditions differ materially from those disclosed at the time of estimate
12.) Virginia-Specific Contractor Protections
- This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- The Company reserves all rights available under Virginia law to secure payment for labor and materials provided.
- Customer acknowledges that failure to make payment may result in legal action to recover outstanding balances, including allowable costs and fees under Virginia law.
- Customer agrees that venue for any legal action shall be in the jurisdiction where the work was performed or where the Company is located.
- If any provision of this agreement is found to be invalid under Virginia law, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
13.) Third-Party Payment (Home Warranty / Insurance)
- If a third party is expected to pay for services, the Customer remains fully responsible for any unpaid balance.
- Delays or denials from third-party payers do not relieve the Customer of payment obligations.
14.) Dispute Resolution
- Any disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation.
- If unresolved, disputes shall be handled in a court of competent jurisdiction within the Commonwealth of Virginia.
15.) Acceptance of Terms
By approving an estimate, signing an agreement, or allowing work to begin, the Customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service.
